ABOUT ME
I'm Carly Thomas, currently working as an associate editor at The Hollywood Reporter.
I graduated from Elon University with a B.A. degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Music Production and Recording Arts.
From a young age, I was always drawn to creative outlets. It started with dancing and singing when I was little and transitioned into writing and editing in grade school. Before I knew it, I developed a passion for journalism. At the same time, I became intrigued with pop culture, always checking the latest entertainment news before heading to school in the mornings, and making my family watch every red carpet event and award show with me.
As I began to immerse myself in journalism and entertainment, taking in everything it had to offer, I quickly learned of the profession’s possibilities, including digital writing and social media. I was enamored by the idea of being a reliable voice in a sea of voices. Social media and digital content offered many opportunities for creativity while being a platform to tell and share stories. I have loved being able to use my skills and knowledge from past and current opportunities to help implement new strategies and ideas across the digital landscape.
